We're looking for an Account Executive to work directly with the founding team. This is a high-ownership role for someone who wants to drive revenue at the center of a fast-growing AI startup that's already changing how commercial real estate teams work. You'll own the full sales cycle, build relationships with CRE firms from first touch to close, and have a direct hand in shaping our go-to-market strategy.
What you will do
- Own the full sales cycle — prospecting, qualifying, demoing, negotiating, and closing new accounts for Examen's AI analyst platform
- Build pipeline by identifying and engaging CRE acquisitions and asset management teams — from family offices to institutional real estate PE firms
- Run compelling product demos that show how Examen transforms analyst workflows: underwriting models, OM screening, quarterly valuations, and more
- Develop a deep understanding of how CRE teams operate so you can speak their language, understand their pain points, and position Examen as essential infrastructure
- Navigate multi-stakeholder sales processes within firms that have complex decision-making structures
- Collaborate with the founding team to refine messaging, positioning, pricing, and GTM strategy based on what you're hearing in the market
- Work closely with product and engineering to relay customer feedback and influence what we build next
- Forecast pipeline accurately and provide clear visibility to leadership on revenue trajectory
- Partner with customers post-close to ensure successful onboarding and long-term retention
- Do whatever it takes to win — creative outreach, strategic partnerships, showing up at industry events, or finding angles no one else sees
Qualifications
- 3+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally selling software or technology to financial services, real estate, or professional services firms
- A track record of consistently hitting or exceeding quota
- Strong discovery and demo skills — you can ask the right questions, listen carefully, and run a demo that connects the product to what the buyer actually cares about
- Comfort selling into complex organizations with multiple stakeholders and longer sales cycles
- Excellent written and verbal communication — your emails are sharp, your follow-ups are timely, your presentations are clear
- Self-starter mentality — you don't wait to be told what to do, you build your own pipeline and figure out what works
- Coachability and a genuine desire to get better at your craft every week
Bonus
- Experience selling into commercial real estate firms, investment managers, or financial institutions
- Familiarity with CRE workflows — underwriting, acquisitions, asset management, valuations
- Experience selling AI/ML products or explaining technical concepts to non-technical buyers
- Background at an early-stage startup where you helped build the sales motion from scratch
- Existing network in the CRE or real estate PE space
- Experience with CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot) and outbound sales tooling
- Prior experience in CRE, investment banking, or asset management before moving into sales
